Car dealership giant to create 40 Derby jobs

The former Cattle Market site

Car dealership giant Inchcape has been given the go-ahead to build a new outlet on Derby-s disued Cattle Market site in a move that will create 40 jobs.

The Derby Telegraph reports that Inchcape will build the 60,000 sq ft dealership over two floors. From there it will sell, service, repair and clean Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles.

Taylor Design Architects will design the scheme. In planning documents the company said: “The design of this prestigious new dealership will combine the premium motor vehicle brands of Jaguar and Land Rover to create a brand new dealership for the Derby area.

“It will provide Derby with high quality technical employment opportunities, as well as apprenticeship and training roles for school and college-leavers.”

Inchcape will bring its existing Derby Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships under one roof at the new site.
