Wates expands East Midlands office

The Wates team as their new East Mids office

Wates Construction has relocated its East Midlands team from Lockington Hall Business Centre to a larger 6,000 sq ft office at Pegasus Business Park in Castle Donington.

The firm says the move will “maximise connectivity” between the East Midlands and the business’ West Midlands base in Quinton, Birmingham and will ensure “optimum delivery for construction projects in the regio”n. These include the transformation of Derby Market Hall and the creation of the new City Hub building for Nottingham College.

Wates has signed a 10-year lease on the new office and now joins fellow tenants PwC and HSBC at the business park. The space was let by Lambert Smith Hampton.

John Carlin, managing director of Wates Construction Midlands, said: “The construction industry in both the East and West Midlands is extremely buoyant and I am genuinely excited about our prospects as we capitalise upon the emerging opportunities. It is with a real sense of pride that we move to significantly larger and modern premises at Pegasus Business Park which represents an investment in our people and primes us for further growth as we look to expand our portfolio of projects across the region while strengthening our reputation as a regional market leader.”
