Poundstretcher to open new Nottingham store

Poundstretcher will move into the former Poundworld unit

Poundstretcher is set to open a new ‘Bargain Buys’ Nottingham store in the city’s Trinity Square development after a deal brokered by Harris Lamb.

The 13,300 sq ft shop occupies a prominent corner position over two floors, fronts Trinity Square and enjoys high levels of footfall.

Gerry Loughran, property director of Poundstretcher said: “Poundstretcher has opened 60 stores so far this year and aims to launch 94 stores by the end of March 2019.

“Our store opening pipeline is strong, but we have the ability to open stores quickly and make quick decisions on opportunities that are presented to us through our network of agents. We are delighted to be opening in Nottingham before Christmas.”

Having identified the Trinity Place site for the chain, Harris Lamb oversaw an inspection on Tuesday 27th November before fit-out commenced. The shop will open at 10am on Saturday December 8th – making it just 12 days from inspection to launch, including concluding the legal work.

David Walton, director at Harris Lamb said: “We were keen to accelerate this opportunity to ensure that the outlet benefitted from Christmas trade.

“We agreed the terms quickly and ensured that the legal work was complete to allow Poundstretcher’s occupation at the earliest opportunity.

“Contractors have already undertaken the shop fit and the store has been fully stocked for opening. Time was of the essence in this situation in order to maximise trade in this golden period of sales,” he added.
