Auction house instructed to sell 20,000 bridalwear items after company collapses

A Nottingham-headquartered auctioneer is selling over 20,000 bridalwear items after being appointed to dispose of the assets of a failed East Midlands company.

Eighty jobs were lost after Grantham headquartered Bridal Fashions, trading as Berketex Bride, which has stores in Nottingham and Leicester, ceased trading last month.

Now, the administrator of Bridal Fashions, Wilson Field, has instructed John Pye & Sons to sell over 20,000 items including wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding veils, tiaras, shoes, ring bearer cushions and more – at discount prices of up to 60%.

Brands in the sale include Emily Fox, Amy Hamilton, Rosetta Nicolini, Tom Flowers and Christina Sposa.

The sale will start this Friday (7 December) at John Pye & Sons’ Port Talbot auction rooms.
