Chief exec of car dealership giant to quit firm

Trevor Finn

The boss of Pendragon, the Nottingham car dealership giant, is to step down from his role after 30 years with the company.

Trevor Finn will retire from Pendragon on 31 March next year. The company says it is currently looking for a new chief executive.

Finn is the second high-profile departure from Pendragon recently after finance director Tim Holden announced in October he will also step down at the end of next March,

Chris Chambers, non-executive chairman of Pendragon, said: “I would like to thank Trevor for all his efforts throughout a long and successful career approaching 30 years with the company. The Board fully respects Trevor’s decision and wishes him well for the future”.

Finn said: “Pendragon is, and remains, a great company full of talented people, and I feel privileged to have led the business during its formative period and ignite the transformative period of development currently underway. The time is now right to hand over to a successor to see thecompany through the next phase of its development.”

In August, Pendragon, which runs the Evans Halshaw and Strastone dealerships, revealed profits had dropped by 42% for the six months ending June 2018.

Revenue remained flat the firm at £2.47bn, while operating profits fell sharply to £27.3m – a performance the company puts down its UK motor division.
