Bed-maker to onshore manufacturing before Brexit

Medstrom Healthcare has announed it will start manufacturing its range of specialist profiling beds in the UK in early 2019.

The ultra-low 5000 bed has achieved commercial success since its launch in 2015, with its low and customisable height to prevent falls and promote safe mobilisation. Selected by many UK NHS Trusts and Health Boards, Medstrom says it has seen record numbers of beds sold in 2018.

The firm is now set to the 5000 bed range at its new facility, Medstrom House, close to the company’s headquarters in Castle Donington. Production is scheduled to commence in early 2019.

Medstrom says the move will provide a level of security against the uncertainties and risks relating to Brexit. The move will also provide a boost to the local economy, creating a number of new jobs in the area.
