Samworth Brothers given green light to buy 2 Sisters site

The Competition and Markets Authority has given the green light for 2 Sisters Food Group to sell its Manton Wood factory to Samworth Brothers.

The deal was was first announced at the end of October.

The Nottinghamshire plant produces a range of retailer chilled sandwiches, wraps and rolls and employs around 1,000 people.

When the deal was announced, Ranjit Singh, president of Boparan Holdings, said:

“This transaction is a significant deal and marks another positive step forward in the transformation of our business.

“It further strengthens our balance sheet, with a combined total of more than £350m in cash proceeds from the three disposals we have made in the past six months.

“As a Group we are following through with our promises and focusing on our key strengths.”
