Designs for new ‘gateway’ residential scheme revealed

The designs for a new ‘gateway’ residential scheme in Nottingham have been revealed.

Plans to build for 21 apartments to rent in the Meadows area of Nottingham have been given planning permission.

Nottingham LiviNG, part of Nottingham City Homes (NCH) was been given the go-ahead to build the new two-bed apartments on the site of the former Meadows Police Station.

The Council says the development will act as a gateway to the Meadows opposite the Experian building at NG2.

The development’s main frontage looks onto Meadows Way and Queens Drive, and the building will sit by one of the city’s main road and tram routes. It will include 14 parking spaces and will be accessed via a new junction off Rutland Close that will connect it to Meadows Way.

Nick Murphy, chief executive at NCH, said: “This is an exciting new development for the Meadows. We have been building new social housing here, and we plan to build more, but these market rent apartments will offer people another housing choice in the Meadows.”

“Now we’ve been given planning permission, we are looking forward to getting on site and creating an impressive gateway to the Meadows and NG2.”
