Nottingham restaurant in sudden closure

An American-style restaurant which became famous for its huge portions has suddenly closed.

Rub Smokehouse, which had venues in Nottingham and Birmingham, has closed its doors and taken its websites down. It became well-known for dishes such as its oversized chicken nuggets called ‘Nugzillas’.

The restaurant first opened four years ago in the Lace Market in Nottingham and was initially a success. This prompted an expansion into Regency Wharf in Birmingham on Broad Street.

However, the restaurants have no been cleared out and closed without any notice to customers.

Rub Smokehouse was owned by Rebels’ Smokehouse Limited. The company’s directors are named as Luke Billingham, Jason Rowe and Sean Singer. Its registered address is in Brough, East Yorkshire.
