Aviation company offers jobs to laid-off Monarch workers

A company based at East Midlands Airport is set to offer a lifeline to workers from stricken Monarch Aircraft Engineering, which went into administration in early January.

A provider of airborne platforms for aerial data capture, mapping, environment and safety surveillance, RVL Group also offers low volume air cargo operations within the UK and Europe. It operates on behalf of government agencies, global couriers and international logistics companies.

Dean Simpkins, head of engineering, said: “To be a qualified B1 or B2 aircraft engineer is a considerable achievement for the individuals concerned. This development for Monarch Aircraft Engineering and its employees is not only unfortunate for the shareholders, it is distressing for all those involved, engineers as well as mechanics and other employees, who have been made redundant.

“There are opportunities here and we welcome enquiries from all those affected.”
