Branding agency hires former newspaper boss

Brand agency Champions (UK) has hired the former regional editor-in-chief at newspaper publisher Reach East Midlands, Steve Hall, as communications director.

Hall has managed the editorial teams of titles including the Nottingham Post, Leicester Mercury and Derby Telegraph. He also spent four years as managing director of four media businesses run by publisher Local World.

Hall will oversee the East Leake company’s output, working closely with the PR, copywriting, social media and videography teams.

He said: “I have worked with Champions on a number of projects in my previous roles and have always been impressed by their professionalism and commitment to delivering excellent results for the businesses they represent. I’m delighted to now be on board and to help our clients share their exciting stories with key audiences.”
