Nottingham hotel to get £2.7m extension

GF Tomlinson has started an extension of 36 guest bedrooms at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Nottingham Gateway.

The £2.7m project is designed by Nottingham architect Rayner Davies with structural engineering by Price & Myers.

The extension is the latest phase in the hotels ongoing programme of refurbishment and expansion. It previously undertook an £5m refurbishment of the existing hotel areas. The new bedroom extension will take capacity up to 141 bedrooms.

Project architect for Rayner Davies Mark Welsford said: “We are delighted to continue our working relationship with the hotel and look forward to working with GF Tomlinson on this ambitious and exciting development”

Hotel general manager Many Goldsmith said: “Our occupancy levels are always very high so we are pleased to be able to increase the number of bedrooms we have available to cater for our growing business and tourist clientele”

The work is expected to take nine months to complete.”
