Huge mixed-use scheme to go ahead in Nottingham

How the new residential development would look

Plans for a 240,000 sq ft city centre mixed-use development that will include retail, residential and student accommodation have been passed by Nottingham City Council’s Planning Committee.

Developer Sherriff Way Nottingham will build the scheme on land on Crocus Street that has been derelict for some years – before the former buildings on the site were demolished in 2012.

It will include 149 private rented sector units, 420 student flats as well as shops and a gym and be designed by Stephenson Studio, which was worked extensively on the regeneration of Manchester city centre.

The plans outline a large central courtyard with a gap on either side of the building to encourage public access.
