Smart technology showroom opens its doors

A new showroom which specialises in smart technology for homes and businesses has opened its doors to the trade and public in Northampton.

TAG Electrical and CD Blinds have joined forces to create a smart home automation system showroom which includes lighting, integrated SONOS sound systems, remote control blinds and bi-folding doors.

The official launch party saw around 120 members of the trade and public attend.

TAG Electrical co-owner Tom White said: “Everyone seemed really impressed with the showroom and the technology behind it all. It was great explaining to people how a smart home can really change the way you live and make your life much easier.”

The project took two years in the making and cost around £35,000.

Co-owner Gavin Chambers said: “To see such a great turnout and be able to show off all our hard work is an amazing feeling. Our systems not only benefit home owners but also business owners. On the launch night, we were able to demonstrate how an automated system can assist a business and allow the office to basically run itself with the touch of a button.”

Chris Dickens, owner of CD Blinds, said: “More people came to the event than we expected. In fact, we have been overwhelmed with all the support we have received. Everyone loved the showroom and got a great feeling when they walked through the door, resulting in lots of enquiries. The automated roller blinds and the outside electric garden awning went down particularly well.”
