Food group reports growth despite ‘weak’ consumer confidence

Food giant Bakkavor, which has offices in Newark, Spalding and Bourne, has reported a revenue increase of 3.2% for the year ending 29 December in preliminary results announced today (18 January).

The firm said “good progress” has been made across the company during the year.

A statement this morning read: “Whilst consumer confidence has continued to be weak, revenue on a like-for-like basis increased by 1.8% in the UK. The International business delivered good volume growth resulting in a 16% increase in like-for-like revenue.

“In the current economic climate, the Board considers this to be a robust performance and confirms that expectations for the full year are unchanged.”
