New care home to create 140 jobs

How the scheme will look

A 75-bed care home in Beeston has been given planning approval and will bring 140 jobs to the town.

Belong Limited will operate the care home which will also include village facilities, hairdressers and gym and spa faclities.

The home will be built on 0.64 hectares of land that was previously part of the large brownfield Myfords Engineering site on Chilwell Road.

A planning statement with the application reads: “Belong’s aim is to provide local people with real choice and alternatives to the traditional home. They will create a vibrant community that will truly engage with Beeston.

“The intention is to provide a Home for Life with specialist nursing and dementia care as provided in our other Belong villages. The village model is unique in design and successfully supports people to live well until the end of life, while preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and helping couples to remain living together, despite health care problems.”

The jobs will be a mixture of full- and part-time roles.
