On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

William Richardson

Edward Cooper Young Chartered Surveyors (ECY) has promoted William Richardson to partner.

Rchardson arrived at the practice over five years ago and has worked closely with the firm’s senior partner Ashley Cooper. Within his new role Richardson will be overseeing the operational side of the business, managing the various heads of department and project delivery.

Cooper said: “This is another key promotion within the firms evolution, Will has been a consistent professional since the first day he joined us, buying into the vision we have adopted for the business.”

Victoria Sheldon

Victoria Sheldon has joined Nelsons’ Leicester clinical negligence team – three years after she started her career as a paralegal at the law firm.

Sheldon originally joined Nelsons, which also has offices in Nottingham and Derby, in 2015, working in the firm’s clinical negligence team before leaving after securing a training contract at Smith Partnership Solicitors.

She said: “Returning to Nelsons was an easy decision for me to make – I loved my time as a paralegal and the firm has a well-established and experienced clinical negligence department so I saw joining the team as a great opportunity to offer my skills and experience, while being in an environment that is known for encouraging growth.

“I’ve always wanted to work with a great team and for a law firm that has a strong presence, particularly in Leicester, which is important to me as I’m from the area. Nelsons has always had a strong vision for the firm, and the innovative, forward-thinking approach continues to be a key part of its ethos and culture. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
