Construction firm wins £100,000 NHS contracts

Nottingham-based construction company, Edmond Shipway, has won M&E contracts worth over £100,000 carrying out work on a series of contracts in Nottinghamshire for NHS Property Services.

These latest contracts are for upgrades at a number of NHS centres in the county and follow an initial contract awarded to Edmond Shipway in 2017 at Ashfield Health and Wellbeing Centre which was completed in June 2018.

The contracts are part of a £1.5m investment by NHS Property Services to upgrade various health centres in Nottinghamshire.

Associate director of mechanical and electrical services at Edmond Shipway, Joshua Croft said: “We’re really pleased to be working with NHS Property Services and Community Ventures on these projects. Although this is the first time that we have worked with this particular client, our team has a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector and of undertaking refurbishments on live sites, skills that we are able to put to good use on these projects.”

Martin Salmon, senior construction manager at NHS Property Services, said: “Josh and his team, working through Nottingham Liftco, the appointed project manager for these schemes, have done a tremendous job of getting the works designed and tendered in readiness for the start on site in the new financial year. They have faced technical challenges in design and been able to overcome issues to allow works to be carried out with least disruption to the clinical services across our buildings. We look forward to working on future projects with Josh and his team.”
