Car dealership plans to create 60 jobs in Nottingham

The former Homebase store on Enterprise Way which closed late last year could be re-opened as a second-hand car showroom.

The Car Shop wants to turn the 80,000 sq ft unit into a new dealership in a move that would create 60 jobs.

A planning statement accompanying the plans says: “The existing façade is to be retained, with minor alterations. Signage is to be replaced with associated CarShop logos. The interior will be redesigned to suit the proposed functions which are sales and servicing of motor vehicles including MOT and service, with associated offices, storage and vehicle preparation services.”

Homebase closed in Nottingham outlet in mid-December. It was one of 70 stores nationwide to shut as the firm cut back on its real estate portfolio.
