On the move: the latest East Midland hires

The new starters at Fischer's

Michelin-starred restaurant Fischer’s at Baslow Hall has revealed a trio of new roles involving new head chef James Payne, sous chef Adam Thackeray, and sommelier Matthew Davison.

Baslow Hall was originally opened in 1989 by husband and wife, Max and Susan Fischer. Max remains executive chef.

Payne said: “I am excited and ready for the challenge of the role of head chef at Fischer’s. I will continue to strengthen my relationship with our team of chefs, sommeliers and gardeners here at Fischer’s, and with our brilliant community of local producers. I am passionate about the Derbyshire food scene and the quality of local produce available to us here.”

Alistair Barber

Lincolnshire-based compounder and recycler Luxus has appointed a new business development manager.

Alistair Barber is responsible for delivering new sales growth in Europe.

Luxus managing director, Peter Atterby, said: “We are pleased to appoint Alistair Barber to this strategic role with his proven business development expertise, at a time when the automotive industry’s demand for high performance recycled content polymers to replace virgin grades has never been greater.”
