A46 closed after ‘serious’ HGV collision

The A46 in Nottinghamshire is closed southbound between the B6166 near Newark-on-Trent and the A6097 due to a serious collision involving an HGV.

Nottinghamshire Police are at the scene.

Highways England says a diversion route is in place, however this is not led by a diversion symbol.

Traffic should exit the A46 at the roundabout with the A1 and join the A1 southbound at the Newark Junction. Continue for 14 miles. At the Barrowby exit, take the A52 westbound for 13 miles to rejoin the A46 at Saxondale Roundabout.
