Forty jobs to be created as supermarket chain enters Mansfield market

How the new supermarket will look

A new supermarket in Mansfield is set to create 40 jobs after property development and investment group Strawsons Property agreed a lease with Lidl for a 23,000 sq ft unit.

The new store will be at Strawsons’ Leeming Lane development in Mansfield.

A planning application for the store with over 100 car parking spaces has now been submitted and building work at the site expected to be underway imminently.

Jo Hawley, Lidl’s regional head of property, said: “We are delighted to be working on this new store development with Strawsons which will be Lidl’s first store in Mansfield. We look forward to opening our store offering our fresh, quality, great value products in the not too distant future.”

Adam Jones of Strawsons Property said: “We are delighted to have secured Lidl as a prospective tenant as they will create more jobs and investment in the area. The new store would provide an excellent grocery option for members of the local community.”

Innes England brokered the deal on behalf of Strawsons.
