East Midlands international trade superstars revealed

Five East Midlands companies have been named among an influential list of the 200 fastest-growing international sales companies.

Published this weekend, the 10th annual Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.

Ranking highest in the entire Midlands is The Watches of Switzerland Group, which comes in at 18th. The firm has seen overseas sales come in at £133m – showing growth of 120% for the year-ending April 2018. The firm is opening a showroom in Hudson Yards, New York this Spring.

Other East Midlands companies in the tables are, Kettering’s Total Computers (49th), Whitworth Group of Wellingborough (62nd), Leicester-based Cofresh Snack (77th) and Mircolise of Nottingham (122nd).

The companies in the Midlands appear alongside well-known British brands, including BrewDog, now valued at over £1bn; and Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, founded by the Hollywood make-up artist. Others are connected to star names, such as Bulk Powders, which counts boxing champion Anthony Joshua among its athlete ambassadors. This year is the 10th anniversary of International Track. Alumni stars include Aston Martin, Specsavers, Fever-Tree, and Lush – which featured on the first league table in 2010 with exports of £151m, and which have now hit £300m.
