Delays expected as major road closed in both directions due to dangerous tree

The A52 is closed in both directions between the A6514 junction and the A6464 in Nottingham due to a tree that has been deemed unsafe.

Nottinghamshire Council is at the scene and working with contractors to make the area safe.

Diversion routes have been put in place:

Westbound traffic is advised to leave the A52 at Dunkirk island and take the 1st exit onto the A6005 westbound. Follow the A6005 until the roundabout with the A6464 adjacent to the university , and turn right. Follow the A6464 for a short distance  until it rejoins the westbound A52 at priory island.

Eastbound traffic is advised to leave the A52 at Priory island , take the last exit onto the A6464 south. Follow the A6464 until the roundabout with the A6005 adjacent to the university and turn left. Follow the A6005 for a short distance until it rejoins the eastbound A52 at Dunkirk island.
