Plans in for major speculative industrial development

Details of an 11 acre speculative development close to Derby city centre have emerged.

Trebor Developments and Hillwood have entered into an agreement with landowner, Acordis Beheer, to bring forward the development of the site, located at Megaloughton Lane, adjacent the A52.

The brownfield site has remained undeveloped for many years, being a former industrial site. Trebor Hillwood have now submitted a planning application to the local authority to build three industrial units, ranging from 30,000 sq ft up to a total of 150,000 sq ft, which will be available on a leasehold basis.

Subject to planning consent, work on site is due to commence in Summer 2019, with the units read for occupation from Q2 2020.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner for Trebor, on behalf of the partners, said: “This is in a fantastic location being adjacent to the A52 and with direct access to Derby City Centre and only a short distance to the M1 motorway a short distance away. The site requires remediation, but will deliver a high quality, industrial, mid-size scheme, developed out on a speculative basis as a single phase. A great deal of hard work has taken place over the last 18 months to bring forward this site, including close liaison with the planning authority regarding the proposed planning application.

We look forward to having the opportunity of obtaining planning approval and moving forward with this exciting scheme, as soon as possible.”

Trebor/Hillwood are represented by agents Innes England (Derby office), Jones Lang LaSalle (Nottingham office) and CBRE (Birmingham office). Trebor and Hillwood are developing industrial developments across the UK.
