Seven-storey residential scheme set for Nottingham city centre

How the development could look

A seven-storey residential development on land between Sneinton and the Lace Market has been granted planning permission.

Regional Land Holdings will build the 6,300 sq ft scheme on the corner of Cowan Street in the city centre and has put forward a “flexible” planning application after discussions with the Council over the course of last year that could see the scheme include student flats.

The site is currently used as a car park and could be turned into a scheme including 42 residential flats or a 91-bed student accommodation block.

In a planning statement, Whittam Cox Architects said: “It is our belief that the proposal will greatly enhance the quality and appearance of the site; it will provide housing and secure long term sustainable use of the site in addition to providing a positive addition to the local area.”
