200 jobs under threat at Fox’s Glacier mints factory

The Leicester factory that makes Fox’s Glacier mints could close after merger plans were revaled.

Proposals for Fox’s Glacier owner Big Bear Confectionery to merge with Tangerine Confectionery have come to light in the national press.

If the deal goes through it would mean the closure of the Big Beat site in Leicester, which employs over 200 people, and create a combined head office in Pontefract and Blackpool.

Tangerine says it is in talks with staff and unions and will be able to confirm any job losses by the end of March.

Big Bear also makes Poppets, XXX mints and Just Brazils.
