On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Lydia Rusling, Megan Johnson, Clare Williams, Charlotte Goy, Sammy Pengelly and Joel Murray

Visit Lincoln says it is set for a record year, with an office move and two new members of staff.

Since establishing as a CIC in May 2018 the team says it has seen “unprecedented” growth across its tourism marketing, digital activity and partnership; with turnover increasing by nearly 40%.

“This next chapter for Visit Lincoln is among the most exciting,” said chief executive Lydia Rusling. “We have ambitious plans to continue growing the visitor economy and it is critical that we had a strong foundation, the right team and office base to do this from.

Visit Lincoln is 95% funded by the private sector.

“Since I started in 2017 we have seen the number of business partners grow by 48%”, added Rusling. “To maintain delivery and our growth plans we relocated to a bigger office in the North Lodge at Lincoln Castle and welcomed two new people into the team. We’re delighted to have Sammy Pengelly and Megan Johnson as part of Visit Lincoln.

Pengelly has been seconded from the council for a year to cover maternity leave as projects and marketing manager.

Lincoln-based digital PR agency Carrington Communications has appointed a new digital marketing manager.

Lauren Devlin is the fourth member of the Carrington team, which works with more than twenty organisations across Lincolnshire and the UK.

Devlin joins from Lincoln-based ecommerce business EQVVS. As well as supporting the digital PR team, she will be heading up the SEO (search engine optimisation) and PPC (pay-per-click) team as the company looks to continue its recent growth.

Rob Tomkinson, founder of Carrington, said: “PR and SEO go hand in hand, so it was a natural next step for us to grow the digital marketing side of our business to complement our existing digital PR work.

“With her knowledge of both SEO and PPC, Lauren’s experience makes her highly sought after in Lincoln right now. I’m really pleased she decided to join us to lead this growing side of our business so we can keep delivering creative, effective and measurable results for our clients.”
