Forest post £5.6m loss – but season ticket sales soar

City Ground

Nottingham Forest slipped to a loss of more than £5.5m last year, according to the club’s newly-filed accounts.

Forest dipped almost £5.6m into the red for the year ending 31 May 2018, down from a profit of £32m a year earlier, when new owner Evangelos Marinakis paid off the club’s outstanding debt.

Turnover rose from £20.8m to £22.6m over the period.

Forst finished in 17th place in the Championship last season, with average attendances rising over 4,000 to 24,680, and season ticket sales soaring to 17,606 on the back of a feelgood factor following the Marinakis takeover.

The news comes after Forest announced it was substantially redeveloping the City Ground into a 38,000-capacity stadium.
