Interiors firm aims for £6m target to ‘make world of work a better place’

Rob Day is looking forward after a stellar 18 months

The owner of a interior design and fit-out company says he expects turnover to hit £6m next year.

Rob Day, the infectiously enthusiastic chairman and founder of Blueprint Interiors says that while his industry is incredibly fragmented, the desire by his staff to always do the best job they can has put the Ashby de la Zouch company in a good position.

Day, who employs 16 staff at his company’s ‘Worklife Central’ headquarters on Ivanhoe Business Park, said: “We always ask clients: ‘What does good look like?’ To turn that around we have to be the best people we can at what we do. That’s why we hire the best team and entrust them to get on with it and that’s why the people we have in this office are so motivated.”

Day, who set up his firm 18 years ago says Blueprint Interiors’ turnover will hit £4m this year – an increase of 40% – and he’s targeting £6m by 2020.

“We’ve in a good place because we have a good spread of projects. We’re about to start work on the biggest-ever piece of work we’ve ever done, and that will bring a boost to next year’s figures.”

Ultimately, says Day, Blueprint Interiors attracts clients who have a long-term vision.

“Businesses who see the real value in their workplaces are the ones that treat it as a true asset. Those are the companies we want to work with. At the end of the day, we exist to make the world of work a better place.
