100,000 sq ft Grade A office space takes a step closer

How the new offices could look

A new 100,000 sq ft Grade A office development in Nottingham’s Southside is set to go before the City Council’s Executive Board tomorrow (12 March).

The proposal by Nottingham City Council to transform a site on the south east junction of Arkwright Street and Crocus Street, Crocus Place, is set for discussion by councillors. Part of the land was used as a base of operations for the NET lines 2 and 3 construction and now sits in a key location for office space in the city.

The news comes on the back of recent announcements of HMRC moving in to Unity Square from Summer 2021, as well as plans to turn the City Buildings on Carrington Street into a ‘Shoreditch of Nottingham’ and the new Grade A development on Station Street by Bildurn. Nearby, the Broadmarsh redevelopment programme is due to add to the area with a new shopping centre, car park, bus station and Central Library and with Nottingham Castle currently under redevelopment.

Councillor Jon Collins, leader of the City Council, said: “We know there is a desire for more top quality office space to bring more jobs and employees to the city and hopefully from across the Midlands. Our proposed transformation of Crocus Place will add to that being offered by Unity Square, City Buildings and Bildurn on Station Street and create a busy office quarter of the city, not just in office space but in the look of the building.

“We are confident that this new development will be a great success and addition to the Nottingham landscape.”
