Green light for £31m development

A £31m housing scheme near Worksop has been given the nod by planners.

A development of 151 homes are to be built in Carlton-in-Lindrick following the approval of a planning application by Chesterfield housebuilder Avant Homes.

Avant Homes Central will deliver a collection of three and four-bedroom family homes on the 14-acre site, which is located on the northern edge of the village on Doncaster Road.

The housing mix will also include a selection of three-bedroom bungalows and 23 two and three-bedroom affordable units.

Initial groundworks will start in March with the first homes released for sale in May 2019. The first properties are expected to be ready for occupation in November 2019.

The £31m development is the fourth for Avant Homes Central in the East Midlands region after the business was established in August 2018.

The others are Klyppr Village in Clipstone, De Rhodes Point in Woodthorpe and Babington Quarter in South Normanton, where a combined 390 homes will be delivered.

Avant Homes Central managing director Stuart Rowlands said: “Carlton-in-Lindrick is a highly desirable location and we are very pleased to have been granted planning permission for this development. It is very well positioned with direct access onto the A60 Doncaster Road, which links the village to the A1(M) and the wider motorway network and will appeal to a wide range of buyers in the local area.”
