A Leicester law company has swooped for a Market Harborough counterpart.

Lawson-West Solicitors has bought Brown & Company, which was headed by husband and wife team Ken and Elizabeth Brown and has been based in the town for more than 30 years.

Ken will now retire, while Elizabeth will remain with the rest of the Brown & Company team under the Lawson-West umbrella.

All the staff were retained following the acquisition and a new conveyancer has also joined the company’s new base in Roman Way.

David Heys, Lawson-West’s managing director, said: “The acquisition of Brown and Company capitalised on our already strong presence in Market Harborough and has given us the opportunity to strengthen and expand our service offering to the community.

“Their ethos is very much the same as ours, which is putting our clients at the heart of everything we do.

“We both look after our clients and go above and beyond to ensure they are satisfied, which can be seen by the fact that the vast majority of their work is repeat business.

“We are delighted to have our new colleagues on board with us, and everyone from Brown & Company has fitted in seamlessly with how we do things at Lawson-West.”

Elizabeth Brown added: “We are delighted to have joined forces with our new colleagues at Lawson-West. Having access to experts in other areas of law, such as employment and family, means that we can offer our clients, old and new, a much wider range of services without having to recommend them elsewhere.

“We are continuing to settle in well in our new premises which are handily just around the corner from our old offices.”
