Derbyshire brewery up for sale

A Derbyshire brewery which supplies 180 pubs and outlets has been put up for sale.

Ashover Brewery began brewing in 2007 in an old stable block in Clay Cross. Since then it has developed a core of eight real ales. Two of its most notable beers include Littlemoor Citra which won the BSBA Overall champion beer at the Rail Ale Festival in 2014 and the SIBA Bronze Medal in 2013, Rainbows End which was the SIBA Bronze medal winner Premium bitter in 2012. Ashover Brewery also produces seven special brews, which have also seen success. Butts Pale Ale earned the SIBA Gold and Bronze medal for bottle beers in 2013.

Knightsbridge Commercial is marketing the business.

A statement from the firm said: “Ashover Brewery is a thriving business with turnover increasing 131% over the past 3 years, with a customer return rate of 95%. Their distribution covers the East Midlands and supplies 180 outlets. This success facilitated their move to a 3,000 sq ft leasehold premises in 2015.

“Further growth could be achieved by seeking a contract to supply a nationwide supermarket. The sale includes highly valuable assets.”
