Cinema and arts centre seeking new chair

Phoenix cinema and arts centre in Leicester is recruiting for a new chair and several trustees to join its board of 12 trustees.

Phoenix has plans to expand and become a four screen cinema by the year 2020. It has recently receiving planning permission and confirmation that Arts Council England will invest £4 million into the project.

Sir Alan Tuckett OBE, the charity’s existing chair, is stepping down at the end of his second term of office. Phoenix has also identified a need for 2-3 new trustee appointments to “ensure it has the right balance of skills to further its strategic aims”.

“This is an exciting time to get involved. We have more than doubled the number of visitors to Phoenix over the last ten years, and we have ambitious plans to do the same again within the next five,” said John Rance, chief executive of Phoenix.

“We are looking for strategic thinkers who have the confidence, integrity and credibility to interact with people at senior leadership levels.”
