Plans revealed for new Grade A office space in Nottingham

A major Nottingham city centre office development is set to be refurbished to turn it into Grade A office space, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.

Cumberland House, which is on Park Row in the heart of the professional services quarter in the city, is set to be renovated to bring it up-to-date.

The five-storey office block hasn’t been updated since it was built in the mid-1980s. The works will include a remodel of the complete interior and transforming the exterior into a contemporary office building.

The building will also be brought up to date with regards to access, thermal performance and heating and ventilation. Cycle storage will also be included.

On top of the internal refurbishment, the existing building elevations will be amended to upgrade windows and light tunnels will be created on the roof.

Property management company Workman looks after the building on behalf of investor owners. FHP Property Consultants is been marketing the office space in Cumberland House, with floor plates available from 3,908 sq ft ft to 23,324 sq ft.

A statement from architect The Space Studio said: “The overall refurbishment aim is to transform Cumberland House into a functional, modern and convenient office building.”

The news comes months after two nearby office blocks were been sold.

On behalf of investors, CEG bought City Gate East & West for an undisclosed sum.

CEG says it is now working up plans for a “substantial investment” into City Gate, to “deliver an ambitious refurbishment” and introduce amenities to the building which is home to companies including RSM, Scape Group, Experian, Domestic & General, Nottingham Trent University, Arup and JLL.
