Plans for city centre flats thrown out for second time

How the flats would've looked

Plans to to build a five-storey residential scheme just outside of Nottingham city centre have been thrown out by planning chiefs for the second time.

Wholesale food group Asiana wanted to build 14 one-bedroom and two 4-bedroom apartments at Raleigh Street in the city.

In February last year the plans were thrown out because the Council said the building was too tall.

Now, Asiana has been knocked back again, after Nottingham City Council said: “The proposed development, by reason of its scale, design and relationship with the existing Portland Square flats, would have an unacceptable impact on the living conditions of residents of those flats.”
