University reveals plans for 200-bed accommodation scheme

How the new block will look

Plans to build a 200-bed student accommodation extension at the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus have been revealed.

The University wants to extend its Southwell Hall of Residence on Triumph Road in the city.

Plans drawn up by architect Maber show the design to be a mirror image of the existing Southwell Hall. The new building would extend to almost 37,500 sq ft

The existing Halls have catered facilities, whilst the new extension would be a self-catered facility built on the site of a temporary car park.

There are approximately 1,100 staff who are based on Jubilee Campus and some 8,500 students that are based at the campus either as full or part time students, with a number of students regularly visiting the campus but not necessarily being based there.
