Digital experts from across the globe are set to gather in Nottingham once again this summer for the city’s second Digital Summit.

Organised by marketing agency Hallam, the Summit brings together more than 700 of the region’s marketing, creative and technical professionals with the goal of raising more than £20,000 to fund the Samaritans work in helping people to avoid the emotional crisis that can lead to suicide.

The Summit takes place on 3 July at the Nottingham Playhouse and Albert Hall. Hallam is asking attendees to make a donation to The Samaritans in lieu of conference fees.

International leading digital experts from Google, Adobe, Jaguar Land Rover, Experian, WIRED magazine, VirginMedia, BuzzSumo, and Saint Gobain will be on stage alongside local digital experts from Hallam, the University of Nottingham, Distinction, Adzooma, Shakespeare Martineau, and Air BI.

Susan Hallam MBE, Summit organiser and founder and CEO of Hallam, said: “Hallam is proud to support The Samaritans as our charity of the year. By organising the Nottingham Summit we are able to involve the wider Midlands business community in raising funds for this charity which is close to all of our hearts. Samaritans answer a call for help ever six seconds, and volunteers provide an indispensable safety net for vulnerable people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

Chris Shilling, deputy of Nottingham Samaritans, said: “We are so grateful that Hallam have chosen The Samaritans of Nottingham to raise money for our vital work. Every single day there are people who decide to end their own lives. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy. And our volunteers are here to make sure there is always someone there, for anyone who needs someone. We want to thank Hallam for raising vital funds that will assist us in our vision that fewer people die by suicide.”

This is Hallam’s second annual Nottingham Digital Summit. Last year’s Summit raised £15,280 for Framework Housing Association, addressing homelessness and the causes of homelessness
