Green light for new hotel in Nottingham city centre

The building on Forman Street

The £30m redevelopment of Nottingham Castle is set bring forward a new hotel in the city, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.

Three floors above a city centre restaurant are to be turned into a 13-room boutique hotel, as Nottingham gears up for the grand opening of its prized tourist attraction.

The hotel will be located at 31 Forman Street, above the Antayla Turkish restaurant, near the Cornerhouse leisure complex. All rooms will have en-suite facilities and breakfast would be served in the ground floor restaurant.

A statement on behalf of the owners of the building said: “With the opening of the visitor centre at Nottingham Castle in the summer of 2020 following the £30 million redevelopment of the Castle, there will hopefully be an influx of tourists looking for affordable short stay accommodation in the city centre.”

The top three floors of the building are currently vacant.
