£100,000 investment aiming to put hi-fi retailer back on song

A Nottingham hi-fi centre which closed in February has re-opened following a major investment from a city firm.

Audio-visual group In Phase International has spent £100,000 on refurbishing Nottingham Hi-Fi on Alfreton Road, which earlier this year became a victim of the tough trading conditions for retailers.

In Phase international says that all former staff have been re-employed and that new jobs will be created in the near future.

Store manager, Martyn Key said: “The last few months have been incredibly challenging and it looked like the store would sadly be gone for good, which was a huge shame for our loyal customers who have been with us through thick and thin.

“With the new investment from In Phase International we are partnering with a company which is not only hugely experienced, with over 30 years in the market, but also massively passionate about all things audio. We’ve been selling its award-winning Road Angel dashcams for some time now and the new partnership will see more in-car entertainment and technology being stocked by us. Add to this a fantastic range of specialist home cinema solutions and new brands that we have not previously had access to, including Sony and its a really exciting time for us and our customers once again.”

Gary Digva, sales director at In Phase International, said: “Nottingham Hi-Fi is an icon in this city for anyone passionate about music and that absolutely includes me and my fellow directors. We’ve all grown up with this store and when we read about their challenges we thought that not only could we help, we could actually take the business to the next level with our industry relationships and access to new manufacturers and brands.

“It has always had an unrivalled product range, many of which were brands that were exclusively available here and we were really keen to keep the existing team on as they have incredible knowledge and great customer relationships. We want to take their expertise in the home hi-fi market and add our own from the car audio market and get this business back to where it belongs – at the cutting edge of entertainment systems.”
