School completes renovation after bank funding

Clare Ogden and Nigel Killock

A Lincolnshire school has completed a renovation programme following funding from Barclays.

Ayscoughfee Hall School in Spalding has transformed the infant block and has incorporated a dedicated infant library, early years area, toddler reading area and a before and after school club. The school has also developed an outdoor play area with new equipment and safety flooring.

The school provides education for 146 pupils from the ages of 3 to 11 and employs 35 staff made up of teachers, teaching assistants and administrative staff.

Headteacher Clare Ogden said: “We are absolutely delighted with the finished project. The facilities we can now offer our infant and early years pupils are fantastic and testimony to the hard work of the staff and the contractors involved. In particular, I would like to thank Emma Gibson, our Bursar who worked on the project for over a year. The children love the new area as do the staff.”

Nigel Killock, relationship manager at Barclays in Spalding said: “We are delighted to have been able to support the school with the funding required to complete this project. It looks amazing and provides a fabulous environment for the pupils and staff alike.”

An official opening is planned for September.
