Nottingham coffee chain 200 Degrees has told TheBusinessDesk.com that it will open a further ten venues across the next two years.

Speaking at the Lincoln Entrepreneurs Lunch, Rob Darby, co-founder of 200 Degrees Coffee, said that he wanted his company to continue its “steady growth” and that “doing things well” was better than growth for growth’s sake.

200 Degrees opened its Lincoln venue in March. Darby told the audience of Lincoln business leaders that he chose the city because of its mix of business and student trade and that he wants to see the company’s high street and coffee roasting sides of the business grow “side by side”.

Darby said 200 Degrees would look towards new investment to expand.

He said: “We don’t want to be too big – but we want to be bigger than we are. We probably dont want to go through a trade sale to try and grow 200 Degrees, but we may take on further investment to get where we need to be.”

He said the secret to the success of 200 Degrees, which has ten outlets througout the UK and is about to launch in Liverpool, is to “we make sure we love what we do.”
