On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Barclays has appointed a dedicated relationship manager to look after Oakham, Rutland and Market Harborough area.

Gillian Ward, who has worked for Barclays for seventeen years – the last eleven of which have been in business banking – has joined the team and will be looking after around 100 clients in the Oakham, Rutland and Market Harborough area.

She said: “Business clients play a vital role in supporting the economic wellbeing of the region. They are employers, innovators and negotiators. They are creators, producers and service providers. Running a successful business takes courage and resourcefulness and I look forward to supporting these businesses to grow.”

Area business manager, Amit Sonpal, said: “I am delighted to provide a dedicated resource to the area. Gillian brings a wealth of experience and will enable us to continue to provide a good service to our clients in the area.”

Matt Longley

Finch Consulting has expanded following the appointment of Matt Longley as a senior consultant

Longley, joins the engineering consultancy firm having previously held senior roles at Monsanto Chemicals, Balfour Beatty, equipment rental specialist’s VP and Colas Rail, where he managed contracts for Network Rail up to the value £250m.

Working for VP Plc’s trackway division, Longley was also responsible for working on the Harry Potter film set. He was also part of the team involved in the design and installation of a bridge used in The Dark Knight Rises set at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.

He said: “Choosing a company is all about getting the right cultural fit, and Finch has an excellent culture that promotes collaboration, support, development and essentially getting the best solution for their clients.
