Cream of East Midlands accountancy sector celebrated

Over 150 business leaders from across the region gathered in Nottingham recently to crown the winners in the inaugural East Midlands Finance Awards.

Organised by Distinct Recruitment, in partnership with Barclays Bank, Mazars, Cooper Parry, ICAEW and the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, the awards evening brought together the best and brightest of the East Midlands accountancy and finance community with one common goal: to celebrate the success and contributions of the region’s thriving financial sector.

Three winners were crowned on the night. They were:

– Finance Director of the Year (judged by Mazars & Barclays Bank): Colin Anderton – SDL Group.

– Finance Team of the Year (judged by ICAEW & East Mids Chamber): Rutland Cycling

– Rising Star Award (judged by Cooper Parry & Barclays Bank): Jeremy Croad, Capital One

Responding to his victory, Colin Anderton said: “I was really pleased to support Distinct’s East Midlands Finance Awards. Celebrating the wealth of talent amongst the finance professionals in the East Midlands is really important, and I’m happy to see Distinct stepping forwards and creating this event.”

Mark Gilbert, finance director at Rutland cycles added: “The Finance Team of the Year award was full of outstanding nominations from great businesses, so to hear “Rutland Cycling” was an incredible moment for me. It means a lot to the team and the whole business, we are very proud and grateful.”

Jeremy Croad said: “Receiving the Rising Star Award at the East Midlands Finance Awards was a wonderful surprise and a touching celebration of both my own work, and the incredible work of my peers within the Finance profession. Distinct Recruitment did an incredible job in recognising and celebrating Finance professionals within the East Midlands. Thank you!”
