Robin Hood helps region arrow in on conference success

Robin Hood welcomed visitors to Nottingham's stand at the Meetings Show

Nottingham’s presence at the recent Meetings Show will result in £600,000 being generated for the local economy, according to Meet in Nottingham.

The official Convention Bureau for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, which helps companies and associations to find and book venues in the city, showcased the city and county’s offer at last month’s show.

It said it received around 80 enquiries regarding major events coming to Nottingham.

Rachel Stewart, Events Manager at Meet in Nottingham, said: “Nottingham had an incredibly strong presence at the 2019 Meetings Show and this will really pay off with an expected £600,000 boost to the local economy later down the line.”

Meet in Nottingham was joined on the exhibition stand by representatives from the NTU Events and Conferencing, De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and Stage Connections, alongside the city’s most recognisable tourist icon, Robin Hood.

She added: “Robin Hood generated interest and curiosity about our exhibition stand, strengthening our identity and brand and helping to ensure that we were memorable as a destination.”
