CPW in line to steal show at hottest event of the year

Harry Stannard of CPW performing at last year's event

In the middle of last week’s heatwave, we sat down with Harry Stannard from Couch Perry Wilkes (CPW) to talk about why sponsoring Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) is so important to the M&E consultancy.

How many years have you been attending Hot Property?

Harry: The CPW team and I have been attending the event for years, we all love the informal feel of the event and the networking opportunity that goes with it. We approach Hot Property as if it’s an office party, however this one is a lot bigger and shared with more than half of the industry!

How many years have you been a sponsor?

Harry: Coming up to our fifth year – we are honoured each year to be associated with such a great event that raises funds for vulnerable children across Nottingham.

What are you most looking forward to about NHP 2019?

Harry: I most look forward to seeing the other acts. Everyone was brilliant last year and it’s always a pleasure to be involved in the build-up as you get a taste for all the performances in the lead up to the event and then see how it turns up a notch on the night! It’s great that everyone comes together for such good causes in the community.

Do you have a favourite performance from last year and why?

Harry: All the acts were brilliant, and I was really impressed by the talent of everyone on stage. However, my personal favourite would have to be Paradise City; you could feel the energy flood through the crowd!

What do you think to the theme this year – ‘Throwback’?

Harry: I love the theme this year – who doesn’t love an old school classic? I’ve seen the set list and there are some amazing song choices, I’m sure it’s going to be a fantastic event with great performances all round.

Have you ever had anything to do with the chosen charity for this year – Marcellus Baz?

Harry: Yes, we’ve been in contact with Switch Up for a while now. We feel there is a notable lack of diversity in the property and construction sectors – perhaps because people from deprived communities have no role models in the industry.

Switch up offer the youth of today a chance to put a change in motion, by preparing them for employment and working with local companies for vital work experience. CPW took one of their young people on as a full-time apprentice last year and he’s doing brilliantly.

Is anyone from Couch Perry Wilkes performing this year?

Harry: Yes, there is indeed! To my delight Ash Cowdrey will be belting out another anthem and I personally can’t wait to see what outfit he matches to his performance. Ash really knows how to entertain and with his song choice you won’t want to miss it!

Last year I also loved getting on stage and trying not to murder a timeless classic, so the practice is already underway for my performance this year. Roll on November 2019!

Alongside CPW, the sponsors for this year’s event include B&M Interiors, CPMG, Faithful + Gould, Fraser Brown, Pulse Consult, Samclo Construction, Savills and Shakespeare Martineau. Joining these are Invest in Nottingham, the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency Blimey Creative and design and print agency Ginger Root.
