Plans for huge apartment block near railway station submitted

How the scheme will look

Plans for 344 flats near Nottingham’s railway station have been submitted to the City Council.

As TheBusinessDesk.com revealed earlier this year, the scheme, a partnership between Network Rail and blocwork, is said to have received a “positive” response from Nottingham City Council planners and Design Committee.

A statement on blocwork’s website reads: “The project is one of the largest in the city and will fill a gap in the urban form providing living spaces, investment and renewal. The project completes the wider regeneration initiative around the station with much needed housing units.”

The company says it hopes to start work on the scheme in 2020.

The statement continues: “It is expected once completed the building will be sold to the owner of a Private Rented Sector investment portfolio.

“This site is the first of what we hope will be a portfolio of PRS sites delivered by blocwork.”
