Financial services firm moves into 10,000 sq ft offices

Financial services company Talbot and Muir has doubled its presence in Nottingham by taking out more office space in the city centre.

The firm has moved from an office in Clarendon Street to set up its new headquarters in Maid Marian Way – now taking up 10,000 sq ft in space.

Talbot and Muir was founded by Brian Talbot and Graham Muir in a spare room in 1993 and now employs more than 60 people.

Talbot said: “We are delighted to have moved into our new, modern offices in the heart of Nottingham city centre. We were previously based in several Georgian terrace houses, which, over the past 10 years, were knocked together as we started expanding. As a result of this, our employees were based in small offices that branched off from narrow passages.

“Our new space couldn’t be any more different – it’s contemporary, open-plan and provides us with double the amount of space, which will enable us to continue growing along with the SIPP and SSAS industry. As we’re seeing major growth in both areas and increasing our share of the market, we’re continually appointing staff in anticipation of more new business going forward. The new office will allow us to accommodate them.

“We have been working with Nelsons for years on pension scheme-related property acquisitions, so it was fantastic to work with its team on our office move and expansion plans.”

Riaz Dudhia, head of Nelsons’ commercial property department, advised on the deal with associate and commercial property solicitor Paul Hinchliffe.

Dudhia said: “We have been working with Talbot and Muir since 2008 so, given the long-standing relationship, assisting them with the transaction and helping to secure the lease has been an honour. The move is part of the business’ expansion and growth strategy, with the investment in the new building marking a significant move for the company.

“The building’s landlord agreed to carry out some renovation works to the office space, with Talbot and Muir carrying out substantial alterations to suit its requirements. The new office is modern and, along with providing space for the business to continue growing, showcases the company’s commitment to Nottingham.”
