Rehearsals begin for hottest event of the year

As the weather begins to cool down, Nottingham Hot Property (NHP) is heating up as rehearsals begin this week. We therefore sat down with Alex Crabtree, director at Ginger Root, to chat all things NHP.

How many years have you been attending Hot Property?

Ginger Root have been attending Hot Property for two consecutive years now. After a successful first year at NHP, the Ginger Root team attending grows year on year with everyone thoroughly enjoying the event. It’s a great opportunity to bond with the team, let our hair down and support a great cause.

Have you noticed the event getting bigger?

We always try to get as many of our team down as possible, not only has team grown in attendance, we have noticed the event get busier all round, and the performances just seem to get even better as the years go on. The event is so well put together, I suspect NHP 2019 will be the best one yet!

How do Ginger Root get involved?

After seeing how much professionals from across Nottingham enjoy themselves whilst contributing to help significant causes from across the city, we couldn’t wait to get more involved. Ginger Root are now proud sponsors of NHP for the second year running and we are excited to be raising funds for this year’s chosen charity, Switch Up & Nottingham School of Boxing.

Favourite moment from the past couple of years?

My personal favourite moment must be Warren G classic Regulate ft. Nate Dogg, performed by Harry Stannard from CPW. It was spectacular, and I particularly enjoyed the element of surprise – it came out of nowhere!

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I am most looking forward to the music and party atmosphere that NHP delivers. The theme ‘Throwback Thursday’ is a brilliant choice, I’m certain it will be a lot of fun. My personal favourite decade is the 70’s – disco all the way!

Have you ever had anything to do with the chosen charity for this year – Marcellus Baz?

I have heard about the work Marcellus Baz and his team do to support young people from across Nottingham. Knife crime is a prominent problem across the country that often goes unspoken about.

It’s inspiring to see someone take their negative experience that has had their own world upside down and use it to help and teach others how to make the most of themselves. It’s comforting to see that Baz is teaching these kids that they don’t have to get dragged down by bad influences, and there is a world of opportunity for them that is being highlighted by Baz and his team.

Is anyone from Ginger Root performing this year?

Our innovation spans across design, print and marketing, but unfortunately our talents at Ginger Root don’t stretch as far into performing arts! We are still so excited to be part of the event and offer our full support whilst spectating some amazing performances.

Alongside Ginger Root the sponsors for this year’s event include B&M Installations, Couch Perry Wilkes, CPMG, Faithful + Gould, Fraser Brown, Pulse Consult, Samclo Construction, Savills and Shakespeare Martineau. Joining these are Invest in Nottingham, the event’s media partner The Business Desk, PR agency Cartwright Communications and design agency Blimey Creative.
